This is my favorite homemade chocolate cake recipe. With a super moist crumb and fudgy, yet light texture, this chocolate cake recipe will soon be your favorite too. Top with chocolate buttercream and chocolate chips for 3x the chocolate flavor. You can also prepare this chocolate layer cake as a sheet cake, too.

Ingredients :
- 2 large eggs
- 125 grams unsalted butter
- 75 grams granulated sugar
- 160 ml whole milk
- 100 grams all-purpose flour
- 120 grams cornstarch
- 150 grams of cocoa powder
- 70 grams dark chocolate
- 25 grams of baking powder
- 1 orange
- 10 ml of milk
how to make a chocolate cake
- Melt the butter slowly. Separate the yolks from the whites. Mix the yolks with the sugar until it has a pale color. Pre-heat oven at 170C.
- Add the butter and mix well. Then add the flour and the cornstarch sieving it little by little.
- Between each addition of flour/cornstarch add a bit of milk of the 160ml.
- Once the flour, the cornstarch, and the milk are in add the cocoa powder all at once and mix. Then add 16g of the baking powder.
- Beat the egg whites until soft picks and add them slowly. Melt the chocolate with 10ml of water.
- Wash and grate the orange's skin.
- Put 1/3 of the batter in another bowl, add the melted chocolate and the grated orange. If you want more orange flavor to squeeze it to get some juice.
- Add the rest of the baking powder to the part of the batter we didn't touch.
- Put the orange-flavored part on the bottom of the mold. Bake for 30-40 minutes (20min. from the bottom and than 20min. from both sides.)
